These pieces were crafted using scraps of my childhood wardrobe in an effort to support their continued life and transform them into gender affirming garments that I have agency to choose and create. I selected the chair and boot motifs as a grounding, stabilizing symbols which could hold the sense of loss I’ve felt around both the literal destruction of nostalgic garments and the deeper, more ambiguous longing for a boyhood that never existed.
