Poet Child

Poem from age seven

This experiment in de/reconstruction uses a poem I wrote as a child as source material, cutting up and reconfiguring first the lines, then words, then letters to form new works. In each rendition, every piece of the original poem was used. This process allowed me to inhabit the mind of my childhood self as well as draw out the connective tissue between the poet I was then and the poet I am now–– non-linear, refractive, looping.
